How to Set Yourself Up for Success with a Solid Foundation

Why do you need a solid foundation?

Would you invest a ton of time and energy into building a house on crumbling dirt?

No. You wouldn’t.

Why not??

Because…

Once you start challenging that surface, it's going to start crumbling right under your feet.

Your health is the same.

You need to build upon a rock-solid foundation.

Before you start adding new habits, new time commitments and more energy demands, you need to have a solid base of good health habits first.

Master the basics. Establish your baseline.

Otherwise, the additional pressure of a new daily workout routine, drinking more water, plus new a food routine on top of a weak, cracked foundation … next thing you know, you are eating Doritos in bed at midnight after a month of skipped workouts, ghosting your poor personal trainer, terrified that you’ll run into her at the grocery store buying more Doritos.

Sound familiar?

(Don’t worry, been there several times myself. It does get better!)

The secret that I finally learned to break out of that cycle…is…

I needed to build a foundation.

Do you have a solid foundation?

I consider my “health solid foundation” to be my daily non-negotiables…

Do you use collagen? After tons of research, I only trust my body to liquid bio cell collagen. It is the best of the best, here's why: i

t is NOT made from ground up animal parts like the powders at the stores… This is clinical grade, lab produced, hydrolyzed protein cells. For more info read here

I had a total thyroid/parathyroidectomy at the age of 19 and since then I have struggled to maintain proper vitamin/mineral levels. I really don’t want osteoporosis or some other preventable condition later in life because I didn’t take a daily supplement. So, I take it religiously!

Two words...GUT HEALTH. If you have not spent some quality time taking care of your gut lately, you don’t know what you're missing. Gut health is the foundation of our entire body. Gut health can even impact your emotions, sleep, cognitive processing. I love my pixie-stick probiotic treats!

Did you know you can speed up your metabolism by 33% by being well hydrated? Plus, you’ll feel better, look better and move better. Daily water is non-negotiable in my house. Plus, drinking water can help with cravings and your skin will be better than ever. Drink that gallon a day. Learn more here.

movement

You must move your body now to be able to keep moving it as you get older. It’s so much easier than trying to do it the other way around. All movement counts… from dancing, to working out, intense yard work, walking your dog, chasing your kid around the playground. The only thing that matters is that you get your heart rate up for a continuous 30 minutes per day. It doesn’t even have to be all at one time…do 10 minutes of morning yoga, go on a 10- minute walk at lunch and then take your dog for a 10-minute walk in the evening. It can be that easy. Just get moving.

With hard work and persistence, you can have rock solid non-negotiables that help build up your health better than ever before. Just like this wall, it's a "brick by brick", step by step kind of process. Putting in the work on the front end, is going to pay off huge down the road.

Once you’ve established your rock solid foundation, the sky is the limit.

You can handle anything.

Any storm that comes your way.

75 Hard has been a fantastic way to take my solid foundation up a step to the next level.

So I ask you again, do you have a solid foundation?

What are you building?

What do you want your completed, ultimate, dream house to look like?

No matter what the end goal…

It all starts with a solid foundation.

To better understand the importance of all this, enjoy this adorable short little story :) LOL
